Worth noting further down the list

Some cornerstone transaction vocabulary sits surprisingly far down the ranking: caveat emptor (22,200), cash-out refinance (22,200), conventional loan (22,200), construction loan (22,200), homeowners' association (hoa) (22,200), estoppel (22,200), closing costs (9,900), and escrow account (14,800) all trail the list above — a reminder that people meet the big-ticket concepts first and the paperwork terms only once a deal is underway.

Methodology

Search volumes are average monthly US searches from Google Ads keyword data, retrieved July 2026 for every one-to-three-word term title in the dictionary. Brand names, words whose dominant search meaning is unrelated to property (for example “note” or “draw”), and construction or architecture vocabulary were excluded, so the ranking stays focused on the transaction side of real estate. Volumes are rounded by Google into buckets, which is why ties are common. This page may be cited freely with a link.
